Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park

We recently stayed at Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park and it was hands down the best Caravan we’ve ever stayed in!  And we’ve stayed in a few.  In fact, we’ve been staying in them for over 40 years, so we’ve seen plenty.  And this absolutely knocked spots off them all.

Read on to find out why.

Where is Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park?

As you might expect, it’s near Woolacombe Bay. Which is in North Devon.  But did you know that Woolacombe Bay beach was crowned Sunday Times best Beach in 2021?

And it’s easy to see why.

With over 2 miles of Golden sand this beach is massive.  And, backed by wild dunes and rolling hills which frame the sea it’s as pretty as it gets. Perfect for those shots for your socials.

It’s also a great place to surf and is in an area declared a World Surfing Reserve in 2022

Accommodation at Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park

Decking Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park

The accommodation at this devon holiday park was spotlessly clean as was the park itself.  The park is clearly well managed, grounds well-manicured and there was no littler to be seen with plenty of bins and recycling points.  The campsites were also very clean and well organised with their own wash facilities.

All the staff we had the pleasure of speaking to were friendly, happy and helpful. And we were met with a smile from every staff member we interacted with. We can honestly say that, from what we saw, their aim is to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Some also go above and beyond their duties.

Directions to Bull point from the reception staff or to Woolacombe beach from housekeeping staff? Not. A. Problem.

Interior Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park

We stayed in a platinum and it was quite simply the best caravan we’ve stayed in

  • Spacious
  • Comfortable
  • Well appointed

It ticked all the right boxes.

There was also plenty of room for parking two cars.

Kitchen

Kitchen Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park

No galley kitchen here. Oh no, this is a full size fully equipped affair, complete with freestanding fridge-freezer, microwave, full-size oven and dishwasher! Self catering without washing the dishes. What’s not to like?

Dining/Living areas

Dining Area Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park

Real touches of luxury here.

Comfortable dining and seating areas…

…with flat screen TV which had a great signal and great picture.

So much storage space we can’t imagine anyone running out of room. So well equipped too! Even had USB ports. Which were used pretty much constantly! 😆

Bedrooms

Main bedroom Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park

3 in our caravan.  1 Double and…

…2 with 2 singles. Again loads of storage space and one or 2 in our party were particularly impressed with…

…the dressing table.  Mirrors everywhere too which is really handy.

Bathrooms

2 Bathrooms! Yes, you read that right. 2 bathrooms!! This makes a massive difference. Especially with teens in the family!

And the platinum range also provides towels which is just soooo handy!

Decking

This was the beautiful decking area.  With incredible views of the sea, we could actually see Lundy Island from here which has special significance to us.

We sat here with a cold one on several occasions!

Things to do at Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park

There are so many things to do here that we think it would be impossible to get around them all even in 4 days! You’d probably need a couple of weeks. So there’s very little chance of getting bored. Even for older teens. We think there’s something for everyone.

This is just a snippet of what’s on offer.

Crazy Golf

We love a bit of crazy golf. Always have done. And we really enjoyed these 9 holes! Twice!! It’s free too!

Cinema

It’s got its OWN cinema!! For film buffs, like us, this is just brilliant!  And it made for a perfect movie night. Out, out without going out, out.

Showing up to date films too which we hadn’t seen yet! Massive bonus. So good we did it twice!

Amusement Arcade

A great air-conditioned area for children and young people to play video games and collect tokens. Which we very much did!  Especially enjoyed when it was 27° outside!

Art Shed

This looked like lots of fun. Especially, perhaps for younger ones.

Climbing Wall

How about this for adrenalin junkies. Great workout too!

Explorers

We were very impressed with this area.  Had we been younger we would definitely have wanted to get involved.

Eating and drinking

Whilst the kitchen in the caravan was great to use, we did eat out in the all-day cafe-bar (Bar 51) which serves hot food.

We had the rump steak…

…fish and chips…

…and pizza…

The food was really good and very well presented. Steak cooked medium rare? Spot on here! Very impressed. All served piping hot too. We would not hesitate to eat here again.

Food can also be ordered and delivered to your accommodation! How convenient is that?

Shopping

Not only does the on-site shop stock all the essentials but it’s also a great place to pick up a gift or 2 to take back home.  From BBQs to Bracelets and Firelighters to Fudge, you’ll find the lot here.

Things to do near Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park

It really is worth a stroll to Woolacombe village and beach.  The walk will take about 20 minutes and is steep in places. And it’s tougher on the way back. But absolutely worth it.

Woolacombe beach did take our breath away and Combesgate is no less impressive.

Plenty of places to eat, drink and shop on or around the beach at Woolacombe which is a haven for surfers.

Final thoughts

Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park is impressively well-maintained, clean and tidy and the friendly and helpful staff are a massive part why a holiday here is so enjoyable.

We were so impressed with the facilities on offer here.  We didn’t stop!! There’s something to do from morning till night!

We really did have a lot of fun at Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park. And we think you will too!
